Description

Vitawomenz contains a unique blend of essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants including Folic Acid, Iodine, Iron, Omega 3 and Vitamin D. All ingredients have been clinically researched by fertility specialists to support conception and pregnancy health for both mother and baby.

Even with the most dedicated diet, it’s difficult to ensure you’re getting the necessary nutrients for you and your baby. Vitawomenz has been designed with this in mind, making nutrition easy by supporting female health from pre-conception right through to the end of your pregnancy.

What are the ingredients in Vitawomenz?

Vitawomenz is a combination of Vitamins, Minerals and Antioxidants all designed for conception and pregnancy health, both for mothers and babies. Vitawomenz contains many different key ingredients to optimally support your conception and pregnancy health.

Importantly Vitawomenz contains 500µg of Folic Acid.

Women that are planning a pregnancy or who are in the early stages of pregnancy are advised to take at least 400µg of Folic Acid four weeks before pregnancy and up to twelve weeks after.

Supplementing with 400µg is sufficient to support healthy foetal brain development.

Studies on the Ministry of Health website show that folic acid can help ensure healthy development of babies in early pregnancy when taken at least one month before conception and for 12 weeks after conceiving.
Refer to these studies and other information here: http://www.health.govt.nz

Iron is also another critical element within Vitawomenz. According to the New Zealand Ministry of Health, 40% of women aged 15 – 44 years have an inadequate intake of Iron. Adequate iron stores in pre-pregnancy play a role in reducing risk for iron deficiency and anaemia during pregnancy. Sub-optimal iron stores are difficult to replenish once pregnant.

Iodine requirements when pregnant also increase due to a marked change in thyroid function. It is recommended that the requirement for pregnant women be at a level of 200mcg per day, which is the volume contained in one capsule of Vitawomenz.

The ingredients in Vitawomenz are:

  • Folic Acid – 500 µg
  • Iodine – 200 µg
  • Iron – 12.5 mg
  • Omega 3 – 300 mg
  • Vitamin D (as D3 400 IU) – 10 µg
  • Vitamin E – 20 mg
  • Vitamin K – 70 µg
  • Vitamin C – 100 mg
  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) – 1.5 mg
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) – 2 mg
  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin) – 20 mg
  • Vitamin B 5 – 10 mg
  • Vitamin B12 – 6 µg
  • Biotin (Vit H) – 150 µg
  • Magnesium – 150 mg
  • Zinc – 15 mg
  • Copper – 1000 µg
  • Selenium – 30 µg

More about the ingredients:

Folic Acid

Folic acid plays a role in the production of genetic material (DNA and RNA), and is required for cellular division. Foetal cells undergo constant cell division, so women require increased levels of folate during pregnancy. It is recommended that women take folic acid supplements for at least a month prior to conception, as this nutrient is vital for the development of baby’s nervous system, and it is critical that maternal levels are adequate during the very early stages of pregnancy.

Iodine

Iodine supports a healthy pregnancy. It is required for the synthesis of thyroid hormones, which affect almost every cell in the body and regulate oxygen use, metabolic rate and cellular metabolism. Iodine and thyroid hormones are important for the health of children’s skeletal, muscular and nervous systems, and for your baby’s brain, eyesight and hearing development. If iodine intake has been inadequate it may take up to five months to optimise a woman’s body stores prior to pregnancy.

Iron

Iron is a component of haemoglobin, so it’s essential for the formation of red blood cells and helps maintain energy levels. Early foetal brain development also requires adequate iron. Many New Zealand women don’t obtain the recommended amount of iron from their diets, and this situation may be exacerbated by the increased iron requirements of pregnancy.

Omega-3

Omega-3 long chain fatty acids are essential for babies' health. DHA is the predominant long chain fatty acid in breast milk and is also found in tuna oil. It supports the normal healthy functioning of your baby's brain and nerves, and normal eyesight development.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C supports hormone production and healthy ovulation. The developing egg needs adequate vitamin C to mature. The ovary contains one of the largest ascorbic acid stores in the body.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption and is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones. Low vitamin D levels are common in women during pregnancy.

Zinc

Zinc is essential to good health as it is involved in enzymatic reactions in every cell of the body. Adequate levels of zinc are vital for a healthy baby’s normal growth and development.

B Vitamins

B Vitamins play an essential role in a baby's growth.

Antioxidants:

Antioxidants are important for women attempting conception, and support the reproductive tract’s defences against free radicals.

How do I use Vitawomenz?

It’s pretty simple really. Just take one capsule, once a day – preferably with food, as soon as you start planning to have a baby and then continue to take through your pregnancy. Or as directed by your health care professional.

* Vitawomenz is a dietary supplement formulated to support conception and pregnancy for women. For best results Vitawomenz should be used in conjunction with a balanced diet and regular exercise. Results may vary from person to person. Take only in accordance with instructions on the label.
