LIVER DETOX TEA
Calendula (Calendula officinalis flos): A lymphatic cleanser and bitter tonic, it enhances the detoxifying function of the liver and spleen. It helps heal internal wounds and ulcers. It is particularly useful for treating stomach ulcers, general inflammation and discomfort of the gastrointestinal tract.
Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale radix): Used for centuries to treat issues associated with liver dysfunction. Dandelion helps to increase the flow of digestive juices and break down food for better absorption. Ideal for problems caused by a sluggish liver such as tiredness, irritability, skin problems and headaches.
Fennel seed (Foeniculum vulgare semen): Fennel is well known as an effective digestive remedy by helping to break down food and relieve flatulance. With alkalising properties, this herb helps treat indigestion, heartburn and excessive acid stomach.
Globe Artichoke leaf (Cynara scolymus folia): Promotes overall liver health due to its ability to support gallbladder function, lower cholesterol, increase bile production and prevent gallstones. It is clinically used in fat intolerance, nausea, abdominal pain and constiptation. It has a strong antioxidant activity that protects and regenerates liver cells.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita folia): Helps reduce a number of painful digestive problems including bloating, gas, spasms and nausea. It stimulates and cleanses the liver and gallbladder. It istraditionally used to prevent gallstones, and a clinical trial has shown to disolve gallstones.
St. Mary’s Thistle (Silybum marianum semen): A unique herb due to its ability to detoxify, protect and strengthen the liver. There are no pharmaceutical drug equivalents. Beneficial as a daily detox but also for a range of health issues from adrenal disorders to inflammatory bowel problems and gallstones.
KIDNEY CLEANSE TEA
Birch leaves (Betula pendula folia): An effective cleansing and re-mineralising herb. A prime remedy for relieving oedema and cystitis as it can increase urine volume by 5-6 times. Its high mineral and nutrient content help to cleanse uric acid and waste from tissue.
Golden Rod (Solidago virgaurea herba): Considered one of the best kidney and urinary tract remedies in both acute and chronic conditions. Golden Rod is excellent for flushing pathogens in cystitis, waste accumulation due to a sluggish metabolism and relieving oedema. Golden Rod helps to cleanse tissue in gout and arthritis.
Horsetail (Equisetum arvense folia): A traditional medicinal plant with specific diuretic and toning properties for the urinary system. It soothes painful irritations and infections of the urinary tract. As a cleansing tonic, Horsertail is useful for chronic arthritis and gout.
Nettle (Urtica dioica herba): Strengthens the body’s elimination organs (kidney, bladder, liver, pancreas, gallbladder) with a profound cleansing action on all types of tissue. Its abundant mineral and trace-mineral content helps to re-mineralise wasted cartilage and connective tissue, especially beneficial in arthritis. It helps to relieve pain in arthritis, rheumatism, sciatic nerve problems and neuralgia.
Raspberry leaf (Rubus idaeus herba): Clinically proven to soothe and tone the mucous membranes of the kidneys and urinary tract. It strengthens the function of the bladder, kidneys and uterus.
Dosage:
STEP 1. CLEANSE: Before breakfast (or food), 1x cup of Liver Detox Tea
STEP 2. FLUSH: After breakfast (or food), 1x cup of Kidney Cleanse Tea
Follow steps 1 and 2 as a daily detox routine. Note, the Liver Detox Tea will taste bitter at first. In fact, the more bitter you find it the more you need it! Persevere because as your liver health improves, so will the taste.
