Description

New Zealand's Green-lipped Mussel is packed with over 30 Essential-fatty acids including Omega 3 EPA, DHA, and ETA. Combined with New Zealand Olive Oil and Vitamin E Oil, it has become our most effective joint supplement.

Studies using inflammatory cells (neutrophils) have demonstrated that four newly identified long-chain omega-3 fatty acids possess significant anti-inflammatory properties. Among these, ETA (C20:4) stands out due to its structural similarity to arachidonic acid.

Researchers believe that ETA binds to the enzymes LOX (lipoxygenase) and COX (cyclooxygenase), inhibiting the conversion of arachidonic acid into pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. This action helps to reduce inflammation, making ETA particularly beneficial for joint health.

Additionally, newly discovered rare furanic acids in green-lipped mussels may contribute to this effect. These acids appear to enhance anti-inflammatory activity, although their exact mechanism of action remains under investigation.

Recommended dose:

Small dog (5-10kg/11-22lb) - 2 drops

Medium dog (11-25kg/23-55lb) - 4 drops

Large dog (26kg+/56lb+) - 6 drops

(1-2 drops per 5kg of weight)

We recommend double dosing the oil for the first 6 weeks as a build-up period to see best results. M P Oil last 4-12 weeks (Large-Small) depending on the size of the dog.
