What is MitoQ® Eye?

MitoQ® Eye is a revolutionary eye health formula combining pharmaceutical-grade plant extracts, vitamins and minerals with the world’s only mitochondria-targeted antioxidant. MitoQ® Eye supports normal vision, eye health and retinal function.

How Does MitoQ® Eye Work?

MitoQ® accumulates inside the mitochondria hundreds of times more effectively than any other form of CoQ10. By restoring the mitochondrial free radical defense system, it achieves the double benefit of both restoring mitochondrial function and reducing free radical leakage into the cell. Our retinas contain large numbers of mitochondria and are particularly sensitive to free radical damage.
Pycnogenol® is a plant extract from the bark of the French Maritime Pine containing a unique combination of bioactive natural molecules such as procyanidins, bioflavonoids and phenolic acids. Pycnogenol has been shown to support normal healthy lipid metabolism and composition in the retina and to support the healthy structure and function of the microscopic blood vessels found in the retina and other structures of the eye.

Myrtocyan® is a pharmaceutical-grade extract from the fresh fruit of the European Bilberry. The principle actives in Myrtocyan® are flavonoids called “anthocyanins” which support optimal blood flow to the retina and act synergistically with Pycnogenol to promote the healthy structure of the capillaries there. Myrtocyan® also supports normal fluid pressure within the eye and normal tear production.

Lutein and Zeaxanthin are naturally occurring carotenoids called “xanthophylls”, and are the only two carotenoids specifically used by the eye. As we age, the levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in the retina naturally decline, and this has been associated with an increased risk of developing certain eye health conditions. Lutein and zeaxanthin are natural filters of high energy blue light and act as protective free radical scavengers inside the retina.
